Cause it's my Gotcha Day and Birthday!!!
Yap, two years ago on Halloween Day my pawrents adopted me :D
and
because my records were a bit hazy on what my real birth date was
we decided it should be October 31st too.
This is a photo of me on my first day in my new furever home...
I was sooooo happy to be out of a kennel!
I did zoomies and then more zoomies and then more zoomies!!!
My pawrents were wondering how in the world they were
going to manage my high energy level.
Turns out a walk a day plus lots of play was the pawfect combination :)
Here is the only puppy photo that my pawrents have of me...
I was about three months old here.
These were the photos my pawrents saw online before they met me.
They read I liked to play a lot and thought I was goofy looking
which made them smile so they made the trip to
the Sarasota Humane Society to meet me in pawson.
I wasn't 3 months old anymore. I was 2 years old.
Yes, myself and litter-mates were taken here when
we were about 3 months of age.
I did get adopted once before but that didn't work out so I came back
to the humane society and lived with them until my pawrents finally found me.
The Sarasota Humane Society is a no-kill shelter.
Good thing for me!
They took the very best care of me that they could.
Took me on at least one walk a day.
Fed me, played with me, gave me a roof over my head,
medical care and even took me to some basic manners classes.
They became quite attached to me (no big surprise there ;)
and cried the day I was adopted.
Made my new pawrents cry too. Very emotional day!
Anyway, after a couple weeks, they invited one of the
volunteer ladies that had spent a lot of time with me to my new home
so she could see I was doing okay.
And then after a month took me back to the Humane Society for a visit
so they could see I was doing fine too.
It was fun to see them all again and
I was relieved when we left and came back home as well. :)
You may wonder how my blog got started.
Well it started with a letter...
"Dear Humane Society"
Yap, my pawrents wrote to them after a couple months
to let them know about my adventures and how I was doing.
They really appreciated that so...
Mom decided to start a blog for me so they could keep up on
my doins if they wanted to.
I'm so glad we did this! It's been a lot of fun for me and
Mom really enjoys reading about all my furiends and
helping me keep my blog going :D
This year, for part of my Birthday/Gotcha Day Celebration
we want to give back a little to the wonderful shelter that
cared for me for so long.
So, on my Birthday/Gotcha Day Celebration post, on...
Monday, October 31st
we are going to donate 50 cents for every Happy Birthday/Gotcha Day
comment to The Sarasota Humane Society in thanks.
Won't you please stop by on October 31st to wish me a Happy Day?
It would mean a lot to me and
there's bound to be some yummers :D
Hope to see you then! :D
